· Evidence of comprehensive review of extant literature and citing from a range of minimum 30 journal articles
Part 1 of your research proposal should contain the following: ” The impact of dividend policy on Firm value/ Profitability: A panel data analysis of two Australian listed firms. nb. For this topic you may choose any two firms that have annual reports readily available for the last ten years, hence the research information will be solely gathered from the annual reports
1. Introduction: State the research problem & say why the research needs to be done (who is it important to and why)
2. Literature Review & Conceptual Framework: Summarise & critique existing theory/research, show how your work fits into the literature, provide a diagram of your conceptual model of a mid-range theory and discuss your mid-range theory about the phenomena you are researching. Be sure to clearly define all the constructs in your conceptual model (e.g. diagram of proposed constructs and relationships based on the literature review).
This assignment will be assessed holistically and on your ability to:
· Concisely review the relevant literature;
· relate findings from different studies;
· identify gaps in the literature;
· clearly define each construct/variable and discuss potential operational problems with measuring the constructs/variables
· present the literature in the form of a theoretical argument/discussion;
· present (the) research question(s)/hypotheses in a coherent fashion;
· logically integrate the research question(s)/hypotheses with the existing theory/research;
· identify an important area of contribution; and
· present the material effectively.
Here are some further guidelines to support the above:1. You may want to read Ruch & Taylor (2015) about Accounting Conservatism, the web-link to be provided to guide you on how to do the table with lit review information
2 a. Have a look at the “Tables” that followed the review of literature and “Conceptual framework” (Figure) based on the above mentioned article and produce a similar table for this assignment using the relevant 30 journal articles for literature review?
2 b. Basically follow a similar research plan and complete the review of literature for your proposal part 1.
3. Define your research and objectives clearly and give your researchable question in the proposal. Provide at least 1 research question
4. Specify the (1)dependent, (2) independent and (2)control variables. Ensure the variables are defined clearly under “Label” in SPSS “variable view” including the unit of measurement.
5. Include the variable view page from SPSS as appendix in your proposal,
6. Develop the hypotheses and show relationship between the dependent and independent variables
