Reflecting on your reading and writing
Directions:Review Sections 4.3 – 4.6 in your text and think back to your early experiences with reading and writing.Then, respond thoroughly and honestly to each prompt.
- What made reading fun for you? What made it a chore? Describe any strategies that you useor read about in Sections 4.3 or 4.4 that you would like to use to help you become a more critical reader.
- For some students, expressing their thoughts in writing comes naturally and easily. For other students “writer’s block” is a regular occurrence, and they find it difficult to compose their thoughts. To what degree do you enjoy or dislike writing? Describe any strategies that you use or read about in Sections 4.5 and 4.6 that you would like to use to help you become a more critical writer.
