Oral Presentation
Thesis (probably 1-3 sentences) – state your current thesis, based on the most current version of your research question. Alternatively, you can state the most current version of your research question (This is the question I will attempt to partially answer with my proposal…)
Main claims and evidence – a short list of your claims with brief example of evidence (if listing your sources of evidence takes too long, focus on the claims you are making)
Main potential counter claims – a brief list of potential objections to your major claims. You could also include how you plan to respond, but be careful to stay within the time limit.
Audience – name the main audience for the proposal. If you want to speak about the process section of the proposal, this is a good space for it. You can articulate how the results from the process help persuade your audience into some form of action (action here might be conducting additional research, providing funding, providing a specific intervention, etc.).
Remaining problems – name any problems with the project that you still have to address. This section can be a list; if you have a plan for how to solve a problem, you may include that information. If you have a long list of problems, you may focus on the more salient ones. Again, choose what you will say based on the rest of the presentation and the time constraints.
