We’ve mostly talked about Descartes in this unit, and you’re welcome to write about something in his work that interests you. If you’re looking for a challenge, you could go off the beaten path with another rationalist (like Spinoza or Leibniz), a Christian philosopher-theologian (like Pascal or Calvin), or a political philosopher (like Hobbes or Machiavelli). Each of these thinkers fits the time period.
