Part 1: Developing a Program Policy that Advocates for Quality

As an educator at ABC Academy and Care, you will propose a program policy that supports best practice in early childhood education. The goal of the proposed policy is to support and protect children, families, and/or staff members.
You will create a proposal to share with your program’s team regarding the new policy. Complete each of the following steps to create the policy’s proposal.

Step 1: Policy Objective

  • Describe the proposed program policy. Include why it is needed and how it will benefit children, families, and/or staff members of your program.
  • Write an objective for your proposed policy. The objective should state what the policy will accomplish and how.

Step 2: Gather Data and Research

  • Gather data on your proposed policy using at least two sources.
  • Write a summary on the research you gathered.
  • The research provided should directly connect your policy’s objective to best practice in early childhood education.

Step 3: Implementation Plan

  • Write a plan for implementing the program policy. Include a description of how to train and motivate others to use the policy.

Part 2: Presenting your Program Policy

You will need to complete Module 01 Assignment – Part 1: Developing a Program Policy that Advocates for Quality before completing this assignment.

Now it is time to present your program policy! Presentations can be created in various ways including, but not limited to, PowerPoint, . The goal of your presentation is to convince your program to adopt and implement your suggested policy.

  • Create a presentation that includes a summary your findings from Module 01 Assignment – Part 1: Developing a Program Policy that Advocates for Quality.
  • Include how the proposed policy advocates for children, families, or staff members of the program and use theories of motivation to persuade your program to adopt the policy.
